In the 15th century, during his voyage to the West, Ming Dynasty navigator Cheng Ho encountered a violent storm. Facing a shortage of food, he decided to cook bird’s nest to stave off hunger.

To his surprise, he discovered that it not only provided energy but also enhanced complexion.

Recognizing its exceptional benefits, Cheng Ho collected bird’s nests and presented them as a tribute to the Emperor. From then on, bird’s nest became a prized imperial delicacy, cherished for its nutritional and health properties—later known as Imperial Bird's Nest.
